Introductions and what we been doing on the radio were made around the table.
There was one membership application from KI4WBW Robert Yingst that the club discussed and voted on. Tip made the motion to accept and John seconded - Motion passed.
The May meeting minutes were read by Bob. Tip made the motion to accept the minutes as read and John seconded - Motion passed. No corrections - good job Wayne.
The Treasure's Report was then read by Bob as Wayne emailed it to him. Vic made the motion that the report be accepted as read and George seconded.
Repeater Report:
George reports that the check-ins have been low, but the repeater is
working well. Members have reported some enhancement in the morning/night hours.
Old Business:
The official shirt logo has been developed. "Simple, but good for us"
The price is $8 for the logo and $2 extra for name & call sign. A motion was
made by Mary Ann to accept the logo as designed and Tip seconded - Motion passed
Amendment 3 to the Bylaws was discussed and voted on. John made the motion to accept the amendment to the bylaws as stated and George seconded - Motion carried.
New Business:
The Cub is now ARRL affiliated. Bob is going to try to get a frame for it and
the library is going to let us hang it in the building. ARRL QSL service was
discussed slightly - Bob W5RE gave further insight & personal experience.
ARRL Repeater Insurance & Club Commissions Program pros & cons were discussed. Further investigation on the Commissions Program was suggested. Bob and Wayne will get together on the insurance soon.
The Club getting its own call sign was the next thing on the list. There were several disadvantages brought up about printed repeater directory listings and such. Members went with the idea to do further call sign investigation and it was tabled till the next meeting.
Bob made the announcement that the Opp City Council will do a Amateur Radio Week Proclamation. All that will and want to are invited to attend. Your chance to be on the local cable TV channel is here.
Vic has a ton of Field Day supplies. All with OARC stamped on them. He also half cleaned the closet out and found the two extension cords that were needed.
License classes for people wanting to get or upgrade their license were discussed again. Vic has sent off to be a ARRL VE. The first session will probably be in September.
John brought up and discussed the co-op Field Day. He also read the governor's proclamation. Be sure that you look over the section abbreviations & rules - This is a known problem at Field Day activities. Battery power and coax is running thin for the operating rigs. If you got any lengths of coax bring it along with your spool of trot line.
The door prize drawing
was held. Congrats to Bob S., Mary Ann, Jeff, and George at winning Hardee's
coupons.
A motion to adjourn was made by Vic and seconded by George - all members voted
to accept & motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 8:14PM.
